    Honor Society

The EWU School of Social Work established the Iota Beta Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society for Social Work in 1999. The newly revived Chapter inducted 10 BASW students and 43 MSW students in the Spring of 2014. (http://www.phialpha.org/)

The purpose of the National Honor Society is to recognize the academic achievement of undergraduate and graduate students of social work as well as to honor local practitioners who have made significant contributions to the field of social work. The Iota Beta Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society identifies local events, activities, and initiatives to further social work values at EWU and to contribute to the surrounding community. Iota Beta is open to all MSW students who meet eligibility requirements.

To be eligible to apply for the induction into the Iota Beta Chapter, a graduate student must be in good standing with the SSW program and the University; the student must have a grade point average of 3.7 in the MSW program after completing two full-time quarters or 12 credits. Iota Beta Chapter Officers include President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. These positions will be voted on in fall.
