Mission Statement


EWU's MPH program supports the mission of the university by preparing students to meet the growing demands of population health in improving the health of all communities throughout the region, the nation, and the globe. The goal of the program is to provide a highly trained and educated workforce for the numerous public and private settings needing public health workers.

    EWU's MPH program mission is to strive for excellence in scholarship, practice and leadership to combat health inequalities and to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of all communities.


    The program's goals, addressing instruction, research and service are as follows:


    Education: EWU's MPH program develops professionals for courageous leadership roles in combating health inequalities and improving population health and wellbeing.

    Research: EWU's MPH Programs engages in community oriented participatory applied research to improve population health and wellbeing.

    Service: EWU's MPH programs supports and leads community efforts to improve population health and wellbeing.
