Welcome to the Department of Physical Therapy's Clinical Education Web page.

We are proud of the long tradition of excellent clinical education our students receive from the dedicated clinical faculty affiliated with our program.

Current clinical coordinators of clinical education, or clinical instructors for our program, will find information and forms within the clinical partners (CIs, CCCEs) page.

If you are a current student all clinical education documentationcan be found in clinical education canvas courses.

Clinical education at EWU consists of 35 weeks total of physical therapy internships.  Students complete a 5-week internship at the end of the summer quarter, and three 10-week internships over the 3rd year of the DPT program in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.  Students are required to complete one 3rd year internship in acute care, one in a rehabilitation setting and one in an elective setting.  There is no order that the internships must be completed in.  Additionally, students are required to go out of the Spokane area for at least one of the 3rd year internships.  Prior to the start of the first internship, all students must complete and show proof of EWU DPT program required immunizations.  The EWU DPT program will provide additional information and support regarding these requirements once students have matriculated into the program.
