    The Entrepreneurship major is designed for those students with career objectives that involve starting new businesses, working in a startup or early growth business environments, or for those interested in working in small or family businesses.  The course of study introduces students to the entrepreneurial mindset while developing entrepreneurial knowledge and skills necessary to business startup and early growth.  Students will learn to tell a compelling story about their business, to give a powerful pitch, to develop and analyze the value proposition of a business, to develop and refine the business model that will drive growth, to understand the financial processes of startup, and to write a business plan. 

    Students who complete the Entrepreneurship major will:

    • learn to recognize and assess opportunities;

    • learn to convey a compelling vision to lenders, investors customers, and other relevant parties;

    • learn how to create value from their ideas;

    • learn how to recognize, mitigate and manage risks associated with their business;

    • learn how to evaluate their self-efficacy as it relates to an entrepreneurial business;

    • learn how to assess potential startup financing and acquire the necessary financing to operate their business;

    • learn how to build and use networks to develop and grow their business.

    Each course throughout the program will contribute to the development of an Entrepreneurship portfolio designed to include the skills and competencies necessary to start, operate and grow a business.

    Our business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
