The Theatre Program offers: The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, for those who wish to enter the profession or for those who wish to prepare for graduate school; and the Bachelor of Arts in Education, with a major in Theatre, for those who wish to teach grades 4-12. Minors are available in both degree programs.

    Jeffrey Sanders

    Jeffrey Sanders is currently a Senior Lecturer of Theatre at Eastern Washington University having received his B.S. in Acting from Central Michigan University and his M.F.A. in Acting from Western Illnois University. Some of his directing credits at EWU include Avenue Q, Love's Labour's Lost The Musical, Twelfth Night, Fuddy Meers, Macbeth, Bat Boy The Musical, Antony & Cleopatra, Ruthless! The Musical, Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Foreigner. This year at EWU he'll be directing Heathers The Musical and The Tempest for the EWU Theatre Main Stage. Jeff also wrote original stage adaptations of Tim O'Brien's novel The Things They Carried and We are A Poem based on the collected works of authors John Rybicki and Julie Moulds. Before arriving at EWU, Jeff was a resident actor and director for the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. His favorite roles there include Titus Andronicus, MacBeth, Mitch (Streetcar Named Desire), Nurse (Romeo and Juliet), Fluellen (Henry V), Edgar (King Lear), Posthumus (Cymbeline) Hector (Troilus and Cressida), Lopahkin (The Cherry Orchard) and Julius Caesar. While at CSC, he directed A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Every Christmas Storey Ever Told, as well as co-directed Clifford Odets' Waiting for Lefty

    Jessica Ray

    Jessica Ray received her B.A. Degree in Theatre from Eastern Washington University in 2009 and her M.F.A Degree in Costume Design from Illinois State University. She will be teaching courses in Costume Design and Stage Makeup in EWU's Department of Theatre & Film. She has worked at theatres such as Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre and Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre to name a few.

    Vincas Greene

    Vincas Greene earned his B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Eastern Washington University and his M.F.A. in Dance from California Institute of the Arts. He will be teaching courses in dance and developing classes and programming for dance at EWU. Vincas is the founding Artistic Director of Vytal Movement Dance Company in Spokane. He is currently building an adult dance community, developing professional dance in the region (Danse Matters), cultivating a larger audience for dance, advising local dance programs in higher education and sharing his love for the art form through teaching, choreographing and presenting dance. As Chair for the Department of Dance and full professor (21 years), he led Brenau University to full accreditation with The National Association of Schools of Dance and served as a visiting evaluator for the association.  He has taught nationally at several universities, high schools and private studios and was a guest teacher at Nanyang Normal University in China. Vincas also enjoys spending time exploring the stunning beauty of the Spokane River and the surrounding parks, forests and mountains in the Inland Northwest.
