Before your first advising appointment, EWU will evaluate your transcripts and determine which of your credits will transfer. You need to send us your official transcripts before we can evaluate the courses you've taken in the past. Students who have confirmed their admission receive priority.
Your college transcripts will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis to see if an equivalent EWU course exists. If an equivalent course exists, your transcript evaluation will determine whether it counts as an elective, as a prerequisite for your major or as a General Education Core Requirement.
When your credit evaluation is complete, you'll receive an email with instructions telling you how you can access the evaluation. It typically takes 4-6 weeks to evaluate your credits.

In general, you will earn transfer credit for all work completed at regionally accredited institutions of higher education.
If your credits come from a nationally accredited institution, however, your credits likely will not transfer.
You can earn credit for other types of educational experience, too, although there are often additional steps or special requirements to earn credit for these experiences.
EWU follows the transfer credit practices outlined by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
