If you are unable to meet the English proficiency requirement, conditional admission may be an option for you.

Conditional admission helps international students who need English language proficiency in order to be admitted to Eastern Washington University. Conditionally admitted students are required to complete the English Language Institute program prior to taking university-level courses.

Students who are conditionally admitted must meet all of the regular university admission requirements except English proficiency. Conditionally admitted students will be issued an EWU conditional I-20.

    1. Apply online.
    2. The application contains many questions. You will be asked, "How many quarters do you plan to study in the English Language Institute?" Always answer this question.
