    Now that you've been admitted to Eastern, what are your next steps?

    Congratulations on being accepted to Eastern Washington University, and welcome to the Eastern family! Over 12,000 students call Eastern home, and we're excited for you to join them.

    Once you have decided that Eastern is your school, it's time to take the next steps to become an Eagle.

    Step 1: Set Your NetID Password

    What You'll Need

    1. Your eight-digit EWUID (found at the top of your acceptance letter or on a letter Admissions sent you in late March)
    2. Your personal information including the name you used on your admissions application and your date of birth

    Where to Start

    Visit accounts.ewu.edu and click "New Students."

    What You Should Know

    1. When you're done with this step, make sure you know your NetID and password!
    2. Your NetID is used for most of the online services at Eastern, including registering for classes, checking your grades and paying your tuition, and you'll need it for the next step.

    Step 2: Confirm Your Enrollment

    What You'll Need

    1. Your NetID and password (you just created your password in Step 1)
    2. A credit card to pay your $100 non-refundable enrollment fee

    Where to Start

    1. Visit eaglenet.ewu.edu and click "Eastern SSO" and login.
    2. Click the tab called "Student."
    3. Then click the tab called "Admissions."
    4. Finally click the button called "Confirm" that opens up below.

    What You Should Know

    1. Once we receive your enrollment fee, we'll send you a letter to let you know your spot is reserved.
    2. Be sure to complete your online form and submit your $100 non-refundable enrollment fee by May 1, 2013, or within 30 days of being accepted, whichever is later.

    Step 3: Apply for Campus Housing

    What You'll Need

    1. Your NetID and password (you created your password in Step 1)
    2. A credit card to pay your non-refundable $125 deposit

    Where to Start

    Visit ewu.edu/housing and click "Apply Now."

    What You Should Know

    1. EWU is ranked as one of the safest public university campuses in Washington.
    2. EWU has the most affordable housing and lowest deposit of any public university in the state.
    3. Full-time students who are under 21 and have attended college for less than a full year after high school are required to live on campus. For more information about the requirement and exceptions, please see the Housing and Residential Life website.
    4. EWU students love Living Learning Communities (LLCs), which are small groups of students who live in the same hall and have similar majors and study habits. Visit ewu.edu/livelearn to discover why LLCs are so popular.
    5. Married students, single parents, and their dependent children and all graduate students can live on campus, too. Call 509.359.2452, email apartments@ewu.edu or visit ewu.edu/apartments to learn more.

    Step 4: Set Up Your Eagles E-mail (required)

    What You'll Need

    Your NetID and password (you created your password in Step 1)

    Where to Start

    Visit itech.ewu.edu/email and click the link that says "Create / Setup Student Email."

    What You Should Know

    1. After setting up your account, you will receive a temporarypassword, and you must log in to create a permanent one.
    2. Your email username is the entire email address, for example: jsmith42@eagles.ewu.edu.
    3. All official university communication is sent to your Eagles e-mail address.

    Step 5: Sign Up for firstSTEP Orientation

    What You'll Need

    1. Your contact information
    2. Your EWU Eagles Email
    3. A Friday, chosen from the list below, when you can be on EWU's campus for the entire day

    Where to Start

    Visit ewu.edu/firstSTEP and follow the instructions.

    What You Should Know

    1. firstSTEP is a required, day-long summer academic program.
    2. Parents and guests are encouraged to accompany students!

    Step 6: Take Your Math Placement Test

    What You'll Need

    1. Time to make sure you understand the process
    2. Your NET ID and password (created in Step 1)
    3. A credit card to pay the $30 testing fee

    Where to Start

    Visit ewu.edu/mathplacement and follow the instructions.

    What You Should Know

    1. All new students must take the ALEKS placement test. There are only a few exceptions, which you can find at the math departments Placement FAQ page.
    2. If you have a question regarding ALEKS disability accommodation, contact the EWU Disability Support Services Office located in Tawanka Hall 124 at 509.359.6871.

    Step 7: Submit Your Final Transcripts and Test Scores

    What You'll Need

    1. Final, official transcripts from any colleges and high schools (make sure your official high school transcript has your graduation date on it) 
    2. Official IB and AP test scores

    Mail final official transcripts and test scores to the Office of Admissions:

    What You Should Know

    1. Your final transcript is the only way we can give you maximum financial aid or give you credit for the classes you've taken. Be sure we have them!
    2. You will not receive applicable college credit for any AP and IB courses until EWU receives your official test scores.

    Step 8: Finish Financial Aid Paperwork

    What You Should Know

    1. Financial aid awards generally arrive in April.
    2. You may be asked to verify information you provided on your financial aid application.  Be sure to respond quickly.
    3. After your financial aid file is complete, you will receive your Financial Aid Notification. This letter contains the details of your financial aid award. You have 30 days to accept or reject each award. If you do not respond within 30 days, your award may be canceled.
    4. You can take advantage of a Tuition Payment Plan with eight, nine and ten month installments. To enroll in the interest-free program, call 1.888.272.5543 or visit ewu.edu/sfs and click "Tuition Payment Plan." There is a $25 fee to enroll.
    5. If you missed the Feb. 15 priority deadline for financial aid, you still have options. Visit ewu.edu/financialaid to learn more.
