    ABI/INFORM Complete (ProQuest) -- 1971-present
    Comprises 3 databases: ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (full text articles from over 3700 sources back to 1971 -- most are reports and trade magazines, with only around 100 scholarly journals); ABI/INFORM Dateline (local/regional business publications); and ABI/INFORM Global (full text articles from around 3300 sources, of which around 2200 are scholary journals).
    ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry (ProQuest) -- 1971-present
    Full text articles on companies, products, and executives as well as news and analysis of industry trends and developments from over 3300 sources. Most are reports and trade magazines, with only around 100 scholarly journals.
    ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Portal
    Two databases: ACM Digital Library offers full-text articles from over 50 ACM journals and magazines back to the 1950s, plus conference proceedings; Guide to Computing Literature indexes non-ACM journals, proceedings, and reports back to 1985.
    ACS (American Chemical Society) Publications
    Full-text articles from over 40 ACS journals (including Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Journal of Physical Chemistry, etc.) back to 1996. Indexing available in the Legacy Collection, 1879-1995.
    African American Experience
    Offers full-text information from over 300 scholarly books and encyclopedias, as well as thousands of primary source documents.
    A citation database that covers articles and books on agriculture from the National Agricultural Library, including historical materials dating back as far as the 1500's.

    America: History & Life (EBSCOhost) -- 1954-present
    Comprehensive database for U.S. and Canadian history from prehistory to the present. It indexes articles from almost 1800 history journals (as far back as 1954) plus book reviews from around 100 core history journals and relevant dissertations.
    American Film Institute (AFI) Catalog
    Filmography documenting the history of American cinema. AFI Catalog covers the years 1893-1974 comprehensively, and major films from 1975-present. Records for films offer detailed cast and crew lists and information about the making of the film, and not film criticism.
    American Indian Experience
    Offers full-text information from around 150 scholarly books and encyclopedias, as well as hundreds of primary source documents and photographs.
    American Physiological Society (APS) Journals
    Full-text access to American Journal of Physiology 1898-1977, as well as the seven individual sections of AJP from 1977-1997. Also provideds full-text access to six other APS journals, except for the most recent year.
    American State Papers 1789-1838
    Over 6000 full-text Congressional and Executive Branch reports, complementing the U.S. Congressional Serial Set.
    Anthropology Online
    Full text ethnographies, field notes, books/textbooks, memoirs, photographs and contemporary anthropological studies from around the world.
    Anthropology Plus
    Covers journal articles, reports and commentaries for anthropology, archaeology, and related research from over 5800 sources, back to the 19th century. Combines the indexing of the Royal Anthropological Institute’s Anthropological Index and Harvard University's Anthropological Literature databases.
    This databases is hosted by the American Anthropological Association and searches their publications. Use the advanced search to find the citations of the articles in those publications.

    A comprehensive database for art and related subjects (architecture, graphics, interior design, etc.) with access to full-text articles from over 320 journals, indexing for over 650 journals, over 14,000 art dissertations, and nearly 215,000 art reproductions.
    ARTbibliographies Modern (ProQuest) -- 1974-present
    Covers journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs and reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art -- art from the late 19th century to the present and all eras of photography. The books/articles date back to 1974.
    Artemis Literary Sources (Gale)
    Formerly Gale Literary Databases, this platform searches across several Gale literary databases, including Literature Criticism Online, Literature Resource Center (for biographical information), LitFinder (full text poems, short stories, and plays), Gale literary encyclopedias, Dictionary of Literary Biography, and Something About the Author (biographical and critical information on children's and YA authors).     CBCA Complete (ProQuest) -- 1971-present
    Canadian Business & Current Affairs (CBCA) Complete offers full text articles from over 725 publications, with indexing from another 1000 titles, on all subjects.
    Checkpoint RIA
    Basic access to the Checkpoint database for accounting rules and regulations. Limited to 35 concurrent users. No off-campus access via this link.
    Chicano Database
    Offers 67,000 records from more than 2,400 journals and other resources including newspapers, books and book chapters. Coverage dates back to the 1960s, with selective journals back to the early 1900s.
    Includes "The Spanish Speaking Mental Health Database" covering psychological, sociological and educational literature.
    Children's Core Collection: A Selection Guide (EBSCOhost)
    Selective annotated list of fiction and nonfiction books and magazines for children from preschool through sixth grade. Entries offer bibliographic data, price, subject headings, a descriptive summary, and excerpts from a review when available.
    Children's Literature Comprehensive Database
    Full-text reviews of fiction and nonfiction books for children and young adults from over 30 publications (such as Booklist, Publisher's Weekly, VOYA) back to the early 1990s. You can limit searches by grade level, genre, etc.

    Full text articles from this daily newspaper, back to 1988. Offers good international coverage. This newspaper has been around since 1907 and despite the name, is secular in content.
    Chronicle of Higher Education -- 1970-present
    Online version of this newspaper, with news, commentary, and job listings for college and university faculty members and administrators. Full text can be retrieved from articles as far back as 1970.
    CINAHL Complete (EBSCOhost) -- 1937-present
    CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) which indexes over 5,300 journals as far back as 1937, is now "Complete" with over 1300 full-text journals.
    CIOS: Communication Institute for Online Scholarship
    Access ComAbstracts, which indexes around 130 communication journals; full text articles from the Electronic Journal of Communication; directory of communication scholars; and other tools for communication scholars.
    Cochrane Library
    Portal to access six databases for evidence-based medicine. Cochrane Reviews are available full text back to the mid 1990s, while others are indexes.
    Communication & Mass Media Complete (EBSCOhost)
    Comprehensive database for communication and mass media issues, covering over 800 journals, of which around 350 are available in full text. Selected core titles are indexed back to the first issue.
    Contemporary Authors (Gale) -- 1967-present
    Part of Artemis Literary Sources, provides biographical information and suggested readings on more than 145,000 U.S. and international authors.
    Counseling & Therapy in Video
    Collection of over 350 online videos on lectures, interviews, or demonstrations of counseling sessions related to social work, psychotherapy, psychology, and psychiatric counseling.
    CQ Researcher -- 1923-present
    Full-text articles from this one magazine; each 20-page (or so) weekly issue covers one current event or policy topic.

    Dissertations & Theses (ProQuest) -- 1743-present
    Covers doctoral dissertations and master's theses back to 1743. Most of the recent (1997-present) records include a 24 page preview. Also includes over 18,000 full text dissertations. Note: The "Order a copy" link is to purchase a copy. If you would like to borrow a copy, go to EWU Library Catalog and search for the title/author, then request via Summit.     Use the Google search engine to search inside millions of books. If the book is in the public domain, you can download a PDF version. If the publisher allows free access, there will be a link. Otherwise Google will offer you a snippet and links to either purchase the book or find it in a library via WorldCat catalog.

    Use Google Scholar to search for scholarly articles across the Web (this can be a good complement to subscription databases). Note the citation tracking feature.

    Successor to the Bibliography of the History of Art, this database concentrates on the history of Western Art. Indexes 500 core journals, with an emphasis on specialist and rare titles that are not covered by other indexes, plus indexing of relevant monographs, essay collections, conference proceedings and exhibition catalogues. 60% of the sources are in German, French, Italian and Spanish.
