I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who were able to attend EWU's Annual Strategic Plan Conference last week here on campus. Your participation made the event a great success! As the conference theme suggested, A Big Start - An IncREDible Future, I truly believe we are off to a great start as we begin year two of inspiring the future.
Throughout this process, the campus community has been well represented by faculty, staff and student leaders. And it was nice again to see many of you engaged at the conference. Your input and suggestions during the breakout sessions were invaluable, just as they have been since we started this important journey.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Vince Tinto, delivered a powerful message that should resonate with each of us as we ask ourselves every day what we can do to help every student at Eastern succeed. We soon hope to post a recording of Dr. Tinto's presentation to the inspiring the future website.
If you haven't had a chance to look through the 2013 Strategic Plan Progress Report and Action Plan , I hope you get the chance to do so soon. The document provides a snapshot of our successes to date, and it identifies our plan of action for year two. The report is also a chance for us to follow through on our promise to communicate with you and provide updates on the annual developments made by each division on campus.
Working together, we can continue to move the needle on our four clearly-defined goals, or themes, which serve as our road map: Student Success, Institution of Innovation, Community Engagement and Visibility.
I look forward to another meaningful year of progress as we work together to meet our goals and help students succeed!
Thank you for your participation.
