    Addiction Studies Licensed Professionals

    Regional Economic Policy Analysis

    The Graduate Certificate in Regional Economic Policy Analysis offers the opportunity to expand and enhance quantitative skills to analyze policy issues such as the regional economic impact of proposed housing projects, plant closures, or social program expansions. The focus of the certificate is on the development of analytical methods of economics and statistics, identification of appropriate statistical information for regional analysis, tools, methodologies and techniques of policy analysis, and the use of analytical tools and methods such as GIS, input-output analysis, regression analysis and computer modeling.

    The REPA Certificate is a 28 credit curriculum that can be a part of a graduate program at EWU or a stand-alone certificate.  All MURP or MPA students must complete the graduate admissions requirements for the Planning or Public Administration program.  Students must complete the prerequisites or equivalent coursework; complete the 16 credits of required courses; and 12 credits of electives as listed below.

    Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate

    The geography program is designed for students seeking professional careers in environmental fields, geographic information systems (GIS), education and for those going on to graduate study. Typical career fields include computer cartography and GIS, urban and regional planning, community development, environmental analysis, park ranger, intelligence analyst, hydrologist, climatologist, natural resources specialist, demographer, historic preservation specialist and numerous other environmental areas.

    Principal Certificate

    The Principal Certification Program at Eastern Washington University prepares educators for positions of leadership in public, private, and charter prekindergarten through grade 12 schools of all sizes. Upon completion of the program, students will have satisfied the requirements of the Washington State Department of Public Instruction for a school principal's certificate.

    The Master's Certificate in Addiction Studies is designed for persons who have completed a bachelor's or master's degree with a background in social work or a related field and are interested in obtaining coursework that can lead to certification as a Chemical Dependency Professional. Students without a background in social work or related field will be required to complete prerequisite coursework to qualify for Washington state certification. 

    To accommodate students who are employed, all courses are taught online. Addiction Studies faculty and staff are available for personal academic advising for prospective and/or current student needs.

    Disability Studies Certificate

    Encourages people with a minimum of a bachelor's degree preparation and who are interested in disability, and the lived experiences of persons with disabilities, to enroll in the graduate courses offered.

    Executive Certificate in Tribal Planning

    Through the unique relations between American Indian tribal governments and the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians, and the Northwest Tribal Technical Assistance Program, EWU has developed a curriculum in American Indian tribal planning at the graduate level to serve tribal government leaders and staff, American Indian students, and anyone interested in understanding tribal planning practice. The Executive Certificate in Tribal Planning is a 23 Credit Curriculum that can be part of a graduate program at EWU or a stand-along certificate. The purpose of the Executive Certificate is to provide executive level education on tribal planning and tribal government administration to serve American Indian tribal leaders, staff, tribal members and interested students.

    Master's Certificate in Gender & Sexuality Studies

    This certificate is designed to enable students to gain a deep understanding of the ways gender and sexuality structure our existence individually and socially. Gender and Sexuality are being ever more relevant topics in many disciplines, especially due to  ongoing social and legal changes around these issues.

    The Graduate Certificate in Gender and Sexuality studies is 23 credits. Students may apply for a stand-alone grad certificate or the certificate may be taken in addition to their master's degree in another discipline.

    Health Services Administration

    Designed to expand one's understanding of issues that impact the successful delivery of health services.

    Public Management Development Certificate

    Provides an introduction to the concepts and skills associated with public sector administrative responsibilities.

    Teaching of Literature Certificate

    Individuals with master's degrees in hand often discover that in order to teach literature at the community college level, they need some course work in literature and experience in the teaching of literature. This certificate program addresses the needs of these people.

    Teaching of Writing Certificate

    Combines training in writing curriculum components and design, and the teaching of grammar and writing assessment, with a supervised classroom teaching experience.
