Field education is often referred to as the "heart of social work." This agency based internship affords students the opportunity to have a hands-on experience in a social service agency with clients and community members. Students learn while they serve and connect these real-world experiences to their classroom learning.

The Field Education Office is responsible for all aspects of the field practicum and for advising related to all fieldwork. The Office of Field Education seeks to develop and maintain relationships with agencies that will ensure a field practicum of high quality for BASW and MSW students. Please feel free to contact the office for more information.
Practicum is to integrate theory learned in the classroom to practicum experience within agencies. Students are expected to focus on objectives that direct activities to synthesize social work knowledge, values and skills.
