Dr. Pimentel is an associate professor in the Department of Communication Disorders. She joined the department in September 1999.
Dr. Pimentel earned two BS degrees in 1983 from Idaho State University; one in psychology and the other in speech pathology and audiology. She completed her MS in 1984 from Idaho State, and completed her PhD in 1993 from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Dr. Pimentel teaches courses in the area of neurogenic communication disorders and organics, anatomy and physiology of the speech mechanism, communication neuroscience, aphasia, cognitive/ communicative impairments, and motor speech disorders.
Her research interests include the use of context in dementia treatment, discourse analysis in adult neurogenics and the efficacy of our treatment efforts.
