The Eastern Washington University School of Social Work offers students the opportunity to participate in various organizations to develop and maintain communications among social work students, faculty, and the general public and provide a means for united action on issues of social justice. In addition, it provides undergraduate & graduate social work students with many opportunities to become involved on campus and in the community through volunteering, serving on committees, and becoming elected officers.
Eastern Washington University Phi Alpha is a National Honor Society which provides a closer bond among Social Work Students to promote humanitarian goals and ideals. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. The Bachelor in Social Work Student Association actively promotes professional and social activities among students with membership that is open to all current BASW students. The association encourages students to become involved in various college committee in addition to serving as a link between students, the school's administration and faculty.

All Students enrolled in Social Work are eligible for membership in the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), with reduced membership rates for students. NASW is the primary professional organization for social workers and has state chapters throughout the country, with the Washington State chapter located in Seattle. http://www.socialworkers.org/
