Student Institute is a partnership between the CWTAP programs at Eastern Washington University, University of Washington Seattle and University of Washington Tacoma. Each spring, students from all universities come together to present information, network and listen to noteworthy speakers from the child welfare field. It is a great opportunity to share information and keep up to date on the most current child welfare practices.
Eastern Washington University hosted the 16th Annual Student Institute March 1-2, 2013, at the Doubletree Hotel in Spokane. It was a great success, with over 120 students, faculty, staff and special guests attending! Students appreciated the opportunity to present in a professional environment. Highlights of the weekend included approximately 24 student presentations; a presentation by Acting Assistant Secretary for Children's Administration, Jennifer Strus; a Family Assessment Response (FAR) presentation by Julie Ellis, Program Manager, Region 1; a Jane Addams presentation by Martha Raske, EWU School of Social Work Chair; and speed interviewing by DSHS and CWTAP staff; and much more!
