    Curriculum Vitae

         Lieutenant Colonel Jason M. Pape graduated from Michigan State University in 1995 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering and commissioned as an Armor Officer through the MSU Army ROTC program. From 1996 until now, he has served in various leadership and staff positions in both Armor and Cavalry units, as well as Light Infantry, from platoon to division-level. His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course and Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Knox; the Combined Arms Service and Staff School (CAS3), the Command and General Staff Officers Course (CGSC), and the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at Fort Leavenworth. While attending SAMS, he earned a Masters Degree in Military Arts and Sciences. Additionally, LTC Pape participated in the Eisenhower Leadership Development Program (ELDP) at the United States Military Academy where he completed a M.A. in Social-Organizational Psychology at Columbia University.

         His military assignments include the following: 2-69 Armor at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he served as a tank platoon leader and deployed to Jordan for Operation Eager Light, a scout platoon leader and assistant battalion S3, and a tank company executive officer deployed to Kuwait for Intrinsic Action; Combat Support Coordination Team #2 in Taegu, Republic of Korea where he served as the HHD Commander; 1-13 Armor and 3rd BCT, 1 AD at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he served as a battalion maintenance officer, assistant battalion S3, a tank company commander in OIF 1, and a brigade reconnaissance troop commander in OIF 3. Most recently, LTC Pape served as a division G5 planner in the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, and deployed again to Iraq where he then joined the 1-28 Infantry to become the battalion XO. He returned to Fort Riley with the Black Lions in August, 2010, and continued to serve with them until May 2012 when he joined the Fighting Eagles at Eastern Washington University as the Professor of Military Science.

         LTC Pape's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (3rd award), Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), as well as the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Army Commendation Medal (3rd award). Additionally, he has earned the Basic Parachutist Badge and the Combat Action Badge.

         LTC Pape and his wife Tamara have three children: Lance (9), Alexis (7), and Luke (4). They live in Cheney, WA.
