Dr. Robert R. Sauders received his Ph.D. from American University in 2007. His dissertation research examined the politics of Palestinian identity narratives constructed through archaeological and cultural heritage research. His current research explores non-violent , trans-ethnic social movements among Palestinians and Israelis. Dr. Sauders actively conducts research in Israel and Palestine and will eventually broaden the scope of his research to include Armenia. At Eastern Washington University, Dr. Sauders is currently teaching and developing courses on the history, culture and geography of the modern Middle East, Islamic history and culture, Judaic history and culture, museum studies, tourism and human rights.
