This program will allow a student to complete the requirements for an undergraduate degree while enrolled in courses required for the first year of the professional Occupational Therapy program. The student begins the Occupational Therapy Track in the senior year, earns a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies or Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation or Exercise Science, and applies to the Advanced Standing MOT Program, which can be completed over the next one and half years. This program will introduce occupational therapy to undergraduate students early in their career development.

The student first meets with the Occupational Therapy Department for review of prerequisites and course of study, and is then referred to the director of Interdisciplinary Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or Exercise Science for formal application. Students interested in this option are encouraged to be advised by the Department of Occupational Therapy during their freshman or sophomore years. During the first three years of the 3+2 program, the student completes the course of study that addresses his or her interests, as well as meet university requirements. Additionally, during this time, the student fulfills the prerequisite requirements for the MOT program.
