The Department of Management offers a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Management with three different options:
Management: General Business Option
Management: Human Resource Management Option
Management: Operations Management Option
Our business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
General Business provides an understanding of business ownership and entry-level management positions. The program covers organizational behavior, human resource management, and organizational design and development. There is also an emphasis on practical application of management principles. Supplementory work in economics and communications is strongly encouraged.
Human Resource Management leads to careers in personnel management, focusing on techniques that ensure efficiency and well-being of the work force. Topics include: equal opportunity, safety and health, compensation, training and development, performance appraisal, motivation, job satisfaction, and retirement benefits. An organization's strength is attributed to its people. That's why human resource management is such an important part of any well-managed organization.
Operations Management prepares students with techniques and objectives to help service-oriented and/or manufacturing-oriented organizations achieve their objectives. Operations Management deals with logistics, techniques, and methods needed to achieve management objectives relative to quality, quantity, schedules, and costs.
