Need to keep your job and stay in your hometown?
EWU now offers you an on-line Master's program or a flexible arrangement of on-line and short summer classes, or year-round face-to-face classes that suit YOUR situation.
The Master of Arts with Emphasis in Music Education program has been extensively revised to increase the scholarly rigor of the program, bringing it in alignment with current trends in graduate music education curricula. It is intended to offer students a broader experience of music education that will equip them to teach at advanced levels, addressing diversity in settings, curricula and student populations. The program will allow opportunities for exploring the use of technology in teaching and scholarship and will prepare them for teaching in contemporary society. The course will also give students exceptional preparation for doctoral studies.
Requirements for admission into the program are a Bachelor Degree in Music Education or a Master of Arts in Teaching with Music Emphasis or equivalent. Students should preferably have two years of teaching experience. International students are encouraged to apply and should meet TOEFL requirements. Students need not audition, but should submit the following:
· Completed application to graduate studies at EWU
· Writing sample including literature review
· Statement supporting the application
Applicants are invited to apply for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Music Education. Please contact Dr. Sheila Woodward for further information:
