    Salamanca, Spain

    Summer Study Abroad Program

    August 1st to August 22nd

    The Program

This is an intensive summer study program in which students will complete a 5-credit Spanish language course during a three-week stay at Colegio Delibes in the city of Salamanca, Spain.

Eastern Washington University Department of Modern Languages and Literature is offering an excellent, challenging opportunity for college students to strengthen and expand their cultural knowledge and Spanish language skills while taking part in an international travel experience.

Students will complete a 5-credit Spanish language course, ranging from beginning to advanced, during a three-week stay at Colegio Delibes in the city of Salamanca, Spain. This city is a superb and classic example of the Medieval and Golden Age of Spain. It is located at the heart of Castilla y Leon, the historic cradle of the Spanish language, internationally recognized as the premier location for cultural events, historical landmarks and home to one of Europe’s oldest universities.

Students will have a once in a lifetime opportunity, not only to enhance their language proficiencies, but also to increase their cultural awareness and sensitivity by gaining an international perspective to their academic major.

Classes are directed by EWU’s Spanish Program Directors, Prof. José García Sánchez, Prof. Natalia Ruiz Rubio, and Colegio Delibes faculty.

During the 3-week program, students will complete ONE of the 5-credit courses from the following list of options:

    Beginning Spanish:
SPAN 101.60 First Year Spanish I
SPAN 103.60 First Year Spanish III

    OR Intermediate Spanish:
