    Application deadline extended: submit resume and GSA application no later than Friday, March 6th, 2015 for Spring Quarter GSA in the Education Department.



    This student will assist in the Field Placement Office.  Duties will entail collecting data, preparing documents needed for data collection as well as entering data. Also, this individual will provide research assistance as it relates.  In addition this individual will be responsible for assisting in communication with department and constituent personnel.  Also other duties relative to the GSA position as assigned will be a part of this individual's appointment.     Student MUST work 20 hours per week and be available during weekdays to work with faculty and staff on critical projects.   Must meet established requirements for application.    This position is for Spring 2015 ONLY.   To review requirements and benefits, please double click on the links below and allow a minute to load:   Graduate Service Appointments

    Rural American Scholarship - Application Deadline March 1st

    In the past, 40 percent of all applications were rejected because the applicant did not follow directions. Yet, this scholarship is generous and unique in that if RASF receives 50 qualified applicants from EWU, 50 scholarships will be awarded. Sixteen EWU students were awarded $1500-5000 scholarships from the Rural American Scholarship Foundation this academic year. RASF was established for individuals from rural communities who have spent time in the work force, who now realize they need a college education for advancement, and who are pursuing coursework toward an undergraduate degree. Filling out the application correctly is essential. Application may be downloaded from the Financial Aid office or picked at in Monroe 207. Application deadline is March 1.

To help you ensure that you meet the specific guidelines of RASF, Mary Ann Murphy, director, college advancement will review the guidelines, answer questions and offer guidance for writing a successful application.

    Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International $450 Grant-in-Aid

    Eta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering a $450 Grant-in-Aid to a qualified recipient who will be student teaching during 2015.   The funds can be used in any way which would be helpful to the student teacher during this important time in her teacher education process. (tuition, professional clothing, transportation, teaching materials, etc.)   The applicant must be a woman who is definitely planning to do student teaching during 2015 to be eligible for consideration.  Applications must be post marked by January 29, 2015 and are available in Williamson Hall 310B, Dr. Tara Haskins office or click here.


    We are in need of more AVID tutors at Westwood Middle School. We have 6 spots available now through June 4th.  We need tutors on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:20pm.  The tutors can sign up for just one of these days a week.  AVID tutoring is a volunteer opportunity for your students which gives them the benefit of a higher possibility of placement in our school for student teaching.  Many of our AVID tutors in the past have been picked up by one of our teachers for student teaching.

    1.   Undergraduate Education Program Application Deadlines:

     For Winter Quarter 2015 the deadline for application is Friday, November 7, 2014

    For Spring Quarter 2015 the deadline for application is Friday, February 6, 2015

    1a.   Graduation Application Deadlines:

    UNDERGRADUATES: Your application is due two quarters ahead of graduation. No exceptions. November 7, 2014 is the deadline to apply for Spring 2015 graduation.

    GRADUATE STUDENTS: Your application to graduate is due the second Friday of the quarter before you graduate. Friday, October 3rd is the application deadline for Winter Quarter 2015.

    2. The deadline to apply for Education Department GRADUATE programs for Winter 2015 is Dec. 15, 2014.
