Abstract: Normative Data on the Trail Making Test among Unemployment Disability Claimants and its Relation to MMPI-2 Validity Indices
Mentor: Kayleem Islam-Zwart, Psycholgoy
Literature reviews have identified few studies providing normative information for young adults on the Trail Making Test (Soukup et al., 1998). Thus, the need for a comprehensive database is necessary. This study established a normative database for the TMT using unemployment disability claimants and also examined the relationships between TMT scores and malingering as indicated by the MMPI-2. Participants were 745 adults referred for an evaluation of eligibility for unemployment benefits. Normative tables with means and standard deviations were established. After controlling for age, educational level, and gender, hierarchical multiple regression analyses indicated a relationship between the TMT B and the MMPI-2 F scale; however, this relationship was not found for the TMT A or the MMPI-2 O-S scale.
