Caitlin Shain earned her Bachelor in Arts at Eastern Washington University in Government with a minor in History. She graduated Magna cum laude and Ad majorem in 2011 and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, National Political Science Honor Society. She was born and raised in Ventura, California and moved to Washington to attend school. Caitlin has presented at symposiums on topics ranging from political theory to international environmental law and policies. Her research interests are American architectural history, genealogy and European heritage studies. She also enjoys antiquing, photography, traveling, animals, stand up paddleboarding and hiking with her dog named Lucky. Caitlin works with the Spokane Historic Landmarks Commission for Spokane historic preservation. She is currently working on four different Spokane Historical application tours, including the Spokane Fire Department original fire stations and the Spokane Elks Club.
Caitlin is currently the STEM Graduate Assistant and is helping current scholars find research internships and assist with the graduation application process. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in History at Eastern Washington University. Caitlin will be applying to PhD programs this coming year in Public Policy. She is excited to be a part of the McNair Scholar Program that assists students to enter into PhD Programs.
