    CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington University and Iwate Prefectural University in Japan continue to foster their educational exchange partnership by promoting collaborative research opportunities for our global academic community.

    The College of Science, Health and Engineering will host faculty and graduate students from Iwate Perfectural University (IPU) beginning Monday, Aug. 22, through Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.

    During the two-week immersion program, IPU students will conduct collaborative research, develop presentations of their research findings and visit regional companies and cultural sites.

    IPU students will present their research findings, in English, to EWU and IPU faculty, staff and students and regional professionals interested in attending the Presentation Program, prior to their departure.

    This unique research exchange program is a coordinated by Dr. Carol Taylor, EWU Computer Science faculty in partnership with the Division for International and Educational Outreach.  Together they provide a comprehensive immersion program where faculty, students and professionals can engage and exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities.
